After the Madras High Court banned the download of TikTok, the popular video-sharing application, it disappeared from the Google and Apple app stores in India.
The Madras High Court had requested that the application be banned, claiming that it contained inappropriate content that could be dangerous to impressionable young minds.
The ban pointed to the efforts of its Chinese developer, Bytedance Technology, to take advantage of the growing Internet content market in India. It is reported that users who are still looking to download Tik Tok are looking for “TikTok download” and “Tik Tok apk” online to access the application. The TikTok ban also triggered a series of jokes and memes on social networks.
The Indian government has ordered that even the Android and Apple app stores eliminate the Chinese application so that the Indians can not access it.
However, on April 16, the High Court of Madras is expected to hear China’s ByteDance objections to the ban of the TikTok court. If the Supreme Court of Madras, or later the Supreme Court, which listens to the same problem on April 22, annuls the temporary order, it will raise concerns about the future of content regulation in India.
It should be noted that many other sites have similar problems and it is unknown what is perceived as a differentiating factor that leads to Prohibition.
Why TikTok Has Been Banned In India?
Is it because it has already been banned in Indonesia and Bangladesh? Or it is due to the demography that attracts TikTok, which is a large number of children and young people. The main concern is that despite the age limit of 13 years, children of all ages use the application. So, whose fault is it?
Parents, in several reports, have expressed concern that due to interaction with strangers, this is possible through the application. These factors have inevitably attracted the attention of sexual predators and other elements of the application.
Remember, the BBC’s research in 2019 mentioned several comments and interactions with pedophiles in the application. He also noted that he thought that TikTok could remove illegal content or comments posted on his application, but could not remove or block the person who publishes this content or comments.
How To Download TikTok On Android
Due to Android’s customizable ecosystem, compatible apps can be downloaded from third-party app stores and websites. However, it is not recommended to install applications on your phone that does not come from a verified source. This is due to the increased risk associated with downloading an application not found in the Google Play Store, as users may fall in love with malicious apps disguised as TikTok.
Even after these warnings, if you want to download TikTok on your Android phone, this is the best way to do it.
Third-party app stores, such as APKMirror and APKPure, have TikTok in their respective app stores. These are two of the most popular third-party app stores. The app has a rating of 8.2 in APKPure, supported by over 400 comments. The latest version of TikTok available in one of the two application stores is version 5.8.3 and its approximate size is 73.5 MB.
Another way for Android users to access TikTok in India is to get someone who has installed it on their phone through applications that share APK files like SHAREit.
How To Download TikTok On iOS
Because Apple’s iOS ecosystem is more secure than Android, some warnings, such as installing a third-party application, are not officially supported. That said, some third-party app stores list iOS apps, but we do not recommend iPhone users to download TikTok from these sources.
TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, has appealed the case to the Supreme Court of India, which will be heard on April 22.
