If you use the Google Gboard app on your smartphone as the default keyboard, you may notice some new changes. The most significant difference you can easily make is the emoji bar on top of your Gboard. This is a quick access bar that Google recently added to the keyboard app.
This quick access bar displays the most popular and demanded emoji that everyone is currently using. Whenever you want, it gives you quick access to emoji. And that bar disappears when you don’t want it. For example, if you are participating in a discussion, this bar will appear at the top.
But if you are browsing the Internet or doing anything other than chatting, it will disappear because you don’t want to. The only problem with the emoji bar is that it stretches Gboard a bit, which can be a problem on smaller screens.
Here is a little trick to completely turn it off from your smartphone.
- Open any chat in any messaging application to open the emoji bar.
- Start typing and once you see the emoji bar, swipe left.
- You will see a Delete button on the bar, tap it and it will take you to settings.
- Here you can disable the Emoji Quick Access Bar to disable this Emoji Bar altogether.
Once you turn off this emoji bar, it won’t appear again even if you are chatting on another messenger. If you want to return it to your keyboard, you can re-enable it from the Gboard settings. For more similar tips and tricks, follow us on social media.
